IT was nearly a month since Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, launched a fundraising campaign for residents in Gaza.
The public campaign was launched through the “SAHEM” platform, an initiative under the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, also known as KSRelief.
As of Friday morning, UAE local time, the total number of donors to have accessed the online donations drive stood at over 305,000, with more than 150 million Saudi riyal worth of funds collected.
The Saudi King has donated 30 million Saudi riyal while the Crown Prince donated 20 million Saudi riyal to the fundraising campaign.
An emergency Arab summit is being worked on later this month in Riyadh to discuss efforts to stop the violence in Gaza.
