Sen. Bong Go joins lady local legislators’ League of the Philippines  

SEN. Bong Go was the guest of honor and speaker of the National Summit of Lady Local Legislators’ League of the Philippines held at the Iloilo Convention Center in Iloilo City at the invitation of Vice Governor Christine Garin, the President of Four-L Philippines on March 22, 2024.

The theme of the summit is “Four-L Philippines: Count Her In… Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment.”

In his speech, Senator Kuya Bong Go said the gathering where women’s contribution to our society is recognized and celebrated is very important.

For Senator Kuya Bong Go, women legislators wield extraordinary influence and responsibility. Their voice, vision and leadership are crucial in developing policies that address women’s needs across the country. Thus, as legislators, women legislators have the power to implement local legislation that will promote gender equality, protect women’s rights and create opportunities for economic empowerment.

Senator Bong Go assured her continued support to the women sector to the best of his ability and capacity.

He also mentioned one of his legislative milestones, Republic Act No. 11861, which amended the Solo Parents’ Welfare Act of 2000. By doing this, the benefit of single parents who are mostly women is increased.
