The Las Pinas Paranaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LLPCHEA), also known as Las Piñas Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) was established April 22, 2007 under Presidential Proclamation No. 1412, recognized as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance since 2013, and declared as a protected area under Expanded National Integrated Protected Area or the E-NIPAS Act by virtue of Republic Act 11038 Act. It stands as a barrier to typhoons and other extreme climate conditions, a sanctuary to diverse flora and fauna, and a source of livelihood for coastal communities.
