BINIGYANG-diin ni Sen. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito na sa pagbuo ng Negros Island Region ay magiging mas madali ang pagnenegosyo.
Sa pamamagitan kasi aniya nito ay mas madali nang ma-access ang mga kinakailangang serbisyo ng mga residente at negosyante sa loob ng isang administratibong rehiyon. Kabilang dito ay ang mga permit at iba pang requirements.
“I think it will ease doing business because people who want to invest in sugar mills or agriculture in Negros Occidental will no longer have to travel to Iloilo by ferry for permits and other requirements,”
“Everything they need will now be available in Negros,” diin pa ng mambabatas mula sa San Juan, na sponsor at author ng Republic Act No. 12000 o ang Negros Island Region (NIR) na nilagdaan kamakailan ng Pangulo.
“Bad weather will no longer hinder people from Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental from conducting business or seeking services at regional offices,” dagdag pa niya.
Para sa mga interesado sa pamumuhunan sa edukasyon, serbisyong pangkalusugan at turismo, sinabi ni Ejercito na hindi na kailangang sumakay pa ng ferry o lantsa sa Santander at bunuin ang dalawa hanggang tatlong oras na biyahe patungong Cebu para magsagawa ng negosyo.
“If it’s easier and more convenient, it will definitely encourage more businesses to grow in both provinces.”
Ayon pa kay Ejercito, layunin ng pagbuo ng rehiyon ay para pagaanin ang nagkakaisa at magkakaugnay na island development planning na inaasahang magpapabilis sa economic transformation ng Negros at Siquijor.
Isa rin sa intensiyon ng NIR Act ay para mapabuti ang kahusayan ng paghahatid serbisyo ng pamahalaan.
Bukod diyan, sinabi ni Ejercito na sa ilalim ng batas, magkakaroon ng iisang police regional office at military command, gayundin din ng coordinated tourism development.
“Negrenses and Siquijodnons will no longer have to cross the seas to reach their respective regional offices for transactions and services,” ani Ejercito.
“The creation of the region will make services more accessible and efficient.”
