KINUMPIRMA ng Senate panel na mayroong security breach pero hindi hacking sa sistema ng Smartmatic matapos ang isang executive session ngayong araw.
Ang Smartmatic ay ang software contractor ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) para sa 2022 elections.
Ayon kay Senator Imee Marcos chairperson ng Senate Committee on Electoral Reforms, kasama sa nakumpromiso ay ang operations at processes ng Smartmatic.
“We have to admit that a very serious breach occur. It may not be technically hacking however we feel that it compromises the processes and operations of Smartmatic in very serious ways,” pahayag ni Senator Marcos.
“No hacking but there was a breach eh technically para na ring hacking ‘yun,” ayon kay SP Tito Sotto III.
Ayon kay Sotto, mayroong isang empleyado ng Smartmatic ang nakapag-transmit ng mga impormasyon.
“Merong empleyado ang Smartmatic na nilabas ‘yung laptop niya at hinayaang well not hack but hinayaang makopya ng a certain group,” ani Sotto.
Ayon kay Senator Marcos nasa Facebook na ang mga impormasyon na nakuha mula sa Smartmatic.
“Sabi nila mga luma na daw ‘yun, 2016 pero ‘di natin alam may ballot face na 2022 pero sinasabi nila naka-website naman daw ‘yan. Pero ganun pa man masyadong personal ‘yung ibang detalye. Nakakanerbyos pati yung mga flow chart, may mga processes ng Smartmatic, may mga password sabi nila bulok na at non-usable but nevertheless the wealth of detail and the depth of knowledge is a little bit alarming,” ani Marcos.
Matatandaan na dalawang pagdinig ang isinagawa ng Joint Congressional Oversight Committee (JCOC) kasama ang COMELEC, Smartmatic, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Information and Technology (DICT), at iba’t ibang watchdog groups.
Kanina isang closed door meeting ang nangyari kung saan present ang chairman at lahat ng COMELEC commissioners, ang NBI, CICC at DICT.
Matatandaan na nag-ugat ang pagdinig matapos ibalita ng Manila Bulletin na na-hack ang COMELEC servers.
