SENATOR Christopher Bong Go is in favor of extending the existing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Go said it is only appropriate to extend the lockdown further due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
“Marami po (cases) at kailangan pong ma-contain ito baka hindi po kakayanin ng ating health care system kung patuloy po ang pagtaas,” said Go.
Following this, the senator called on the public to stop criticizing and obey only for the sake of all.
He added that people would only be more likely to stay in their house longer if they do not discipline themselves.
Go, meanwhile, said the President is now seriously considering the next step and even talked to the Health secretaries of previous administrations to make him decide well.
According to Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Spokesperson Brigadier General Edgard Arevalo, the public should not worry about the ECQ’s stricter implementation.
He said it is not martial law but a stronger preventive measure against COVID-19.
He said there are many more violated the protocols implemented under ECQ.
The AFP will also designate 800 army reservists to assist in its implementation.
