BOMBARDMENT over Sudan’s capital, Khartoum was reported over the weekend amid talks between representatives of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).
Witnesses say shelling and air strikes have shaken the adjoining cities as well, as the conflict has lasted for at least a month now.
According to the latest figures reported by the United Nations, at least 676 people have died while 5,576 have been injured.
On the other hand, an estimated 200,000 have left the country to seek refuge and 700,000 have been internally displaced.
Prominent Sudanese singer killed during a clash
Meanwhile, earlier this week, it can be recalled that both sides have agreed to protect civilians, however, no ceasefire has been declared.
Following this, a prominent singer in Sudan named Shaden Gardood was killed during a crossfire between the RSF and SAF.
According to some reports, Gardood was killed after a mortar hit her home in the El-Hashmab neighborhood.
Currently, intensifying violence in Sudan continues with no signs of stopping anytime soon.
