OPERATING troops of the 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade of the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division, in close coordination with Local Government Agencies, facilitated the surrender of six Abu-Sayyaf Group (ASG) members in Barangay Tandu, Luuk, Sulu on April 15, 2024.
The six former ASG members yielded with their firearms which include one M1 Garand rifle, two .45 cal pistols, and one .38 cal pistol. The surrenderers received aid from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s Ministry of Social Services Development (MSSD).
The Army leadership commended the Garanul troopers for facilitating the peaceful surrender of the six former ASG bandits.
The 11ID leadership meanwhile lauded the collaborative efforts of Army troops and local government units to help former ASG members start a new productive lives with their families.
