THE troops of the Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division are committed to promoting gender equality and upholding the rights and dignity of women, as it formally ends the 18th day campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW) through VTC, at Sandiwa Event Center, Camp Macario B Peralta Jr., Jamindan, Capiz on December 11, 2024.
This year’s campaign to end VAW observed from November 25 to December 12, is dubbed with the theme “VAW Bigyang-Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!”, which aims to intensify awareness and amplify the call for national action.
As part of the initiative, the Spearhead Troopers joined in the AFP-Wide online simultaneous flag raising and kick-off activity through VTC at 3ID covered gym on November 25, 2024; display of the official 18-day campaign to end VAW banner.
Likewise, the Office of Gender and Development initiated a Responsible Parenting Seminar; AFP-Wide MOVE Orientation Seminar through VTC, and Gender, Peace and Security Review and Cascading to foster a deeper understanding of VAW-related issues among Spearhead troopers.
The 3ID leadership, MGen Marion R. Sison, iterated that through the active participation of Spearhead troopers in this campaign, they are not only committed to being not just defenders of the nation but also promoting a safer, more equitable society where women can live free from violence and fear.
