ON March 1, 2024, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion (EODBn), Army Support Command (ASCOM), Philippine Army (PA) led by its Commanding Officer Col. Francis A Senoron, together with Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Philippine Coast Guard (EODPCG) in coordination with the 790th Air Base Group (790ABG) implemented the emergency disposal operation by detonation of 5,228 rounds of various Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) at the safe disposal site in Crow Valley Gunnery Range, Camp Ernesto Ravina Air Base (CERAB), Sta. Juliana, Capas, Tarlac.
The UXO were discovered and safely recovered during the dredging activities in line with the implementation of the New Manila International Airport Project in Bulakan, Bulacan.
As the recovery and disposal operation commenced, EOD personnel implemented all safety measures and precautions, and applied utmost precision considering that most of the UXO are already in its critical condition and deteriorating stage.
Overall, the successful execution of the activities demonstrated the dedication and professionalism of EOD personnel in providing support not only to PA and other AFP units but also to civilian institutions implementing infrastructure programs of the national government. This achievement also stands as a testament to the commitment of this Unit and the Philippine Army in supporting initiatives of the government towards peace, security, and development.
