A massive manhunt has ended in the arrest of a suspect accused of killing 5 individuals in Texas.
38-year-old Francisco Oropeza – the suspect accused of killing 5 of his neighbors in Cleveland, Texas, has now been arrested following a massive manhunt that lasted 4 days.
The arrest took place on Tuesday after a tip was called into an FBI line, leading authorities to a house in Cut n’ Shoot, Texas, less than 20 miles away from the scene of the crime.
To recall, Oropeza allegedly opened fire on Friday night after a family member asked him to stop firing his rifle due to an infant trying to sleep, killing five people, including a 9-year-old boy.
He is now facing 5 counts of murder and has been held on a $5 million bond. The arrest involved over 250 law enforcement officers, the FBI, and an $80,000 reward for information.
The San Jacinto County Sheriff, Greg Capers, Called Oropeza a coward and revealed that he was found hiding in a closet underneath some laundry.
The case remains under investigation, and details about the home where Oropeza was found have not been disclosed.
