Thailand’s ruling party strengthen ties with Cambodia

PAETONGTARN Shinawatra, the leader of Thailand’s ruling Pheu Thai Party, recently embarked on a one-day official visit to Cambodia.

Paetongtarn held talks with senior officials including Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party.

The visit was aimed at strengthening political ties and enhancing bilateral ties between Thailand and Cambodia.

Both sides pledged for closer cooperation to boost tourism, and to solve the long-term problem of air pollution in the region.

Paetongtarn’s father, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, has visited Cambodia on numerous occasions since he returned to Thailand following 15 years of self-imposed exile.
