The Saga of a Man and his Advocacy to Empower Children

Such a man is Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy (PACQ) was born with extremely poor parents from Lubao, Pampanga. His father Jose and Maria with eight siblings trekked their way to Mindanao, an adventurous journey that though full of promises was fraught with the danger of the unknown. Jose and Maria finally found their nest in a far-flung foothills of Mt. Apo called in the native dialect Tamayong, as interpreted it means “Eternal Spring.” There the last and only child was born.

PACQ the youngest of the brood, grew up with the katutubo called Bagobos. The adventurous but impulsive Jose shuttled back to and fro Mindanao and then Pampanga several times.

Finally, PACQ, under the care and tutorship of his eldest sister Helen, who married a Muslim, finished his elementary and high school education in Parang, Cotabato.

Thereafter, God’s intervention came into PACQ’s life as he was called into a vocation not of his own choosing, but a divinely appointed one. Bible School not secular school as he has dreamt of, is the place where he learned that our life is not our own but God who directs it, ushered into the ministry after his Bible Training and as an evangelist toured churches in the Philippines. Being in the grassroots with the people, he found that poverty is encompassing and so pervasive in the countryside that poor people can live in sub-human conditions as he also experienced growing up but still happy to share whatever meager means they have.

This totally broke PACQ’s heart especially the condition of children who barely exist in such grinding poverty. It’s a chronic poverty condition that’s not stranger to him. PACQ’s empathy towards poor people especially children had gotten him into a resolve that should the Father Almighty bless his God-given ministry that he will dedicate a great bulk of this blessing to help the children and provide for them a home, education, food, clothing, shelter, protection, and loving care.

Thus, the Children’s Joy Foundation was born.

It’s born out of love to help and empower Filipino children who come from the poorest of the poor. This act of unselfish concern translates into the collective efforts of nation-building. PACQ’s heart is to help and be a partner of government in uplifting the plight of poor families with destitute children.

A noble mission with a noble cause without any taint of political color. Many countries, millions of poor children, countless packets of single meals, thousands of school supplies, hundreds of students full scholarships, scores of CJF resident homes for children were distributed and built through the years. Hundreds of CJF volunteers from KOJC spent hundreds of hours catering to every need of these children.

CJF grew into a worldwide mission in tandem with KOJC, from which most of the volunteers facilitate their much-needed help come from. It was PACQ’s faith mission with a heart.

The Philippines, as CJF’s epicenter of love mission for kids in need, has much more to offer for kids’ advancement, most especially among the IP’s. Education was provided as a useful tool to eradicate poverty, ignorance, and illiteracy among the most vulnerable of society’s downtrodden. This is helping the government in nation-building at its best.

However noble and heavenly our mission and vision of CJF is, we don’t run out of detractors under the influence of Satanic forces who are bent on demonizing all the good and sincere intentions that PACQ have in helping and empowering people who needs help the most, as we learn from the lesson of the Good Samaritan.

The admonition of the Lord is clear: Greater love hath no man than this that a man will lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)

This divine love consumes PACQ’s heart with a zeal to help and heal the brokenhearted, the downtrodden, to free the captives of poverty and deliver the message of salvation to them.

This noble endeavor did not escape the evil eye of demonic forces. A well-organized demolition job was set in order. Mission: Search and destroy. Soon the barrage of the enemy’s carnal weaponry was set into motion. False allegations, false accusations, came one after another. Copy-paste charges here in the Philippines and abroad. Fiery darts of the wicked beset us on every side. Rape, child abuse, sex trafficking, etc. These are all designed by the enemy to stop the good we are doing.

Paid false witnesses came by the dozen. Former members and workers of the Kingdom were solicited, sponsored and paid. The bonanza of favor ranges from 100K to 500K with car, condo, visa depending on how devastatingly destructive your false testimony can be dictated, and scripted, and a job, a false witness has to do is read the script with added flavor of dramatic crocodile tears.

And so the trial by publicity went on full swing with the conspiracy of Senate Hearing and Congressional Hearing to add legitimacy to the growing fire of destruction. Black propaganda is another tool of destruction.

A dismissed case of over three years against PACQ suddenly came to life- the object to put PACQ in bonds. Authorities ordered the Davao case be transferred to Q.C. and Pasig. One original case split into two. One assigned in Pasig Court became non-bailable. Warrants of arrest were issued to PACQ and 5 others in Pasig City jail. The rout was complete. The demonic forces joyful.

Like sharks on a feeding frenzy, mainstream media paid or otherwise jumped into the fray, sensationalizing and distorting through negative reporting every bit of news regarding PACQ.

As the shepherd was struck, blow after blow, the demonic forces expected the flock to scatter and scamper away. To his consternation, the opposite unexpected by him happen.

The flock (KOJC) Kingdom citizens all over the world solidified into one block of solid unity, unperturbed, unshaken, undeterred, stood bravely, defending their faith in the shepherd, quenching all the fiery darts of the wicked. 16-day illegal, unlawful, and brutal occupation and possession of KOJC Central Compound proved that the flock (KOJC) are willing to lay down their lives for their faith in the Father thru the Son, no matter what.

But soon, this temporary physical defeat will turn into a rousing celebration of spiritual victory in the Heavens.

That epic 16-day siege, a showdown with the forces of darkness possessing authority, is the manifestation of evil at its worst. While on the other side, thru (KOJC) Kingdom citizens possessed by angels who fought in the war in Heaven under Michael the Archangel, is a complete manifestation of God’s love and goodness at its best.

We marched, we fought, we won. The unbreakable spirit and unshakeable unity pulled us through the darkest hour of spiritual struggle and finally we have defeated the demonic forces of evil.

If there is no battle, there is no fight. If there is no fight, there is no crown. If there is no crown, there is no glory.

The Father has crowned us with glorified victory in Heaven and in earth!

To the uninitiated in spiritual matters, Jesus Christ on the cross was a fatal failure, a loser. Satan, the greatest deceiver of mankind, made us to think so.

However unbeknown to the natural world whose senses are limited to the physical, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour’s crucifixion conquered once and for all the demonic forces. He disarmed the rulers and authorities of darkness and put them to an open shame by triumphing over them in him. He rose from the dead having with him the keys of death, hell and the grave. And upon His resurrection, all power in Heaven and earth are given unto Him.

Now, the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdom of God and of his anointed, and He will rule over them, forever and ever. Amen. (Revelation 11:15)
