THE 8th Infantry “Stormtroopers” Division (8ID) attains victory over the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Eastern Visayas with the surrender of two high-ranking CTG leaders on August 17 and August 18, 2024.
8ID identified the surrendered CTG leaders as alias “Leo/Omer/Lovely”, former Squad Leader of Squad 2, Sub-Regional Guerrilla Unit, and alias “Mael”, former finance officer of the Dismantled Front Committee 15 of the Sub-Regional Committee Arctic of the CTG’s Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee.
The Army leadership lauded the Stormtroopers for their focused military operations and local peace engagements that paved the way for sustained peace and progress in the Eastern Visayas region. The Army also calls on the remnants of dismantled guerilla fronts to surrender and live in peace with their families.
