U.S. to deploy long-range missiles in Germany by 2026

LONG-range fire units are set to return to Germany in the next two years.

These weapons include the SM-6 and Tomahawk missiles as well as “developmental hypersonic weapons,” as confirmed by both the governments of Germany and the United States.

The missiles possess a longer range than current land-based fires in Europe, according to a joint statement.

The long-range U.S. missiles will return to Germany for the first time since the Cold War.

German chancellor Olaf Scholz welcomed the announcement which he said comes as “no surprise” since it’s a decision that has been long in the making.

Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Sergei Ryabkov, warned that Moscow would respond militarily to the decision aimed at damaging Russia’s national security adding that NATO is now fully involved in the conflict.
