THE United Arab Emirates (UAE) has pledged to donate $3 million to rehabilitate the Palestinian town of Huwara after Israeli settlers went on a rampage to avenge the death of two Israeli brothers last month.
The President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan will provide millions of dollars of cash to rebuild ruined buildings and property in the West Bank village of Huwara.
On February 26, Israeli settlers went on a rampage in the Palestinian town to avenge the death of two Israeli brothers who were shot by a Palestinian gunman earlier on the same day.
Hundreds of Palestinian homes, businesses, a school, and numerous vehicles were torched to the ground.
One Palestinian died while about a hundred others were injured.
Abu Dhabi will work with the Emirati-Palestinian Friendship Club to implement the rehabilitation project.
