A high-ranking U.S. official announced that the UAE and Egypt are ready to join a post-war Gaza security force.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said his trips to the Middle East have made progress after Abu Dhabi and Cairo agreed to take part in managing the affairs of the besieged territory once the fighting ends.
Blinken traveled to Qatar, Egypt, Israel, and Jordan two weeks ago,
The Emirati and Egyptian forces will work alongside local Palestinian officers.
Both the UAE and Egypt presented their conditions for involvement in the initiative, including linking the project towards the formation of a Palestinian statehood.
Additionally, Egypt suggested the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza while the UAE has demanded US involvement in the post-war Gaza security force.
Negotiations for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas still encounter political deadlock as the death toll in Gaza has reached almost 38,000.
