SENATOR Robin Padilla believes Vice President Sara Duterte did not rush in her decision to resign from President Bongbong Marcos Jr.‘s cabinet.
“Well, that’s VP’s decision, and for all of VP’s decisions, they are well thought out. Records show that VP is a professional, a lawyer, a three-time mayor here in Davao who left no debts behind. This should be remembered by those mocking her, saying VP failed. She’s the only one in her government agency always awarded for really working, right?” according to Sen. Robinhood Padilla, Republic of the Philippines.
VP Sara’s resignation favors PBBM’s administration—Sen. Padilla
According to Padilla, VP Sara’s decision will help President Marcos Jr. avoid further difficulties in navigating political matters.
“VP’s decision, it’s her decision, so our president doesn’t need to weigh things, he gives our president the freedom to move forward without weighing anything, and I really admire the example VP set. She sacrificed her position for peace, and she’ll do her job as VP. Her letter is clear, she’ll fulfill her role as vice president, so I admire Ma’am Sara and, of course, everyone knows, I’m on her united team, so wherever Sara is, that’s where I am, simple as that,” added Sen. Padilla.
Sen. Padilla urges Sen. Hontiveros to investigate KOJC raid following children’s trauma
Meanwhile, Sen. Padilla cannot hide his dismay following the violent raid by armed PNP-SAF and CIDG on the religious compounds of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, especially at its headquarters in Davao City, Prayer at Glory Mountain located near Mt. Apo, and at Kitbog Compound in Malungon, Sarangani Province.
The senator is saddened by the severe impact on the children residing in these religious compounds.
“First of all, my message is to the children because remember, experts say children’s brains are like sponges, and when they see such things, they absorb them. It’s quite sad because in psychology, our saviors, our defenders, who we expect to be civilians, their items in government, they are civilians, eh, police,” he added.
Sen. Padilla encouraged Sen. Risa Hontiveros to investigate the raid on the KOJC religious compounds in the Senate, which caused severe distress and trauma among the children. Even women experienced violence at the hands of armed authorities.
The senator stressed the importance of Senator Hontiveros being fair in the conduct of the hearing, as her committee is tasked with focusing on the welfare of women and children.
“We need to address that, we need to confront that, not just for me, you know, not just whether the approach was illegal or if the raid was justified, but also the effects of that. Maybe her committee, Senator Risa’s committee, which focuses on women and children, should also look into that to maintain balance because there were effects. The law doesn’t discriminate; we should be fair about what happened here. It’s clear there were child victims, and we can see those children. We can only say therapy if they see the people, the senators, they fight for them, those children need to feel that too. They’re Filipino too, we’re in one country, and something like this happened, and the children felt it, we care for them,” he stressed.
Sen. Padilla to KOJC missionaries: Overcome all trials
Meanwhile, Sen. Padilla has a message for the Kingdom citizens.
“My message to our brother and sisters, be strong, and this kind of trial comes to you, it says to us, not just in the Bible’s book, in the Muslim’s Quran book, like this is the faith that sweetens when you feel such persecution because you read the teaching, you see it in you, it means you. It’s so wonderful to feel that. This thing you carry is gospel, what you carry is the message of the Lord, that’s a thing that’s so wonderful to fight for, like if we look at our history, our history, it’s really there, the trial came, how you accept it, so strengthen your courage, I’m praying with you, these trials will end, and after this, we will all be successful,” he ended.
