FORT General Gregorio H. del Pilar in Baguio City became the venue for the prestigious Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Commencement Exercises for the “New Ray” Class of 2024 last Saturday.
The “New Ray” Class comprises 278 graduates from various regions of the Philippines, all of whom have earned a Bachelor of Science in National Security Management. These newly minted officers will soon bolster the ranks of the nation’s armed forces.
Vice President Sara Duterte was present to personally extend her congratulations and to award the Vice-Presidential Saber to the second highest graduating cadet, 1st Class Mark Armuel Boiles.
“Going to school is not easy, especially graduating from the prestigious Philippine Military Academy so my heartfelt congratulations to all graduates and to their parents,” Duterte said.
She also expressed gratitude to the graduates for their commitment to serving the nation, acknowledging the inherent risks of their chosen profession.
“Thank you so much for accepting the challenge to serve the nation despite the danger associated with your job. A solemn tribute to our brave new defenders of the nation!” VP Duterte concluded.
