World sends condemnation, condolences to victims of Moscow mass shooting

COUNTRIES across the globe condemned the act of terrorism that happened at the Crocus City Hall outside Moscow, wherein dozens were killed and over 100 were injured.

Among them was President Miguez Diaz-Canel of Cuba, who sent condolences to the Russian government and the families who lost their loved ones. He also wished the injured for a speedy recovery.

Nicaragua, Iran, the president of the Serb entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, Bolivian President Luis Arce, and President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela, condemned the attack. Maduro also sent a message of solidarity to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the People of Russia.

The foreign ministries of Uzbekistan, Armenia, Turkiye, Egypt, Qatar, and Cyprus, also sent their condolences and condemned the incident.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he stands in solidarity in Moscow.

Chinese President Xi Jinping also sent his condolences to Putin and the families of the victims, calling the incident a serious terrorist attack.

Xi also said China opposes terrorism in all forms, strongly condemns terrorist attacks, and firmly supports the efforts of the Russian government to ensure national security and stability.

The European Union’s lead spokesperson for External Affairs said the bloc was shocked and appalled by the terrorist attack reports in Moscow, and condemned any attacks against civilians.

The United States also expressed it’s  condolences to the victims of the “terrible shooting attack”.

Meanwhile, Kirby insisted there was “no indication” that Ukraine was involved.

It can be remembered that on march 8 of this year, Kirby told Americans living in Moscow to avoid concerts and shopping malls, citing a possible terrorist attack by extremists.

And in the recent briefing following the mass shooting incident, Kirby was asked whether the U.S. had any prior knowledge to the Moscow mass shooting incident—given that the U.S. Embassy issued a warning beforehand, and this is his answer.
