NAGPADALA ng 2.376 milyong pounds ng relief goods ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa mga probinsiya na nasalanta ng Bagyong Odette.
Ayon sa AFP, nasa kabuuang 15 aircraft at 13 naval vessels ang ginamit para sa humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations ng ahensya.
Sa naturang bilang, 2.190 million pounds ang naipadala ng Navy vessels habang ang 186,282 pounds naman ang naipadala ng Air Force sa pamamagitan ng C-130 at walong S-70i BlackHawk helicopters.
Nagbigay rin ang AFP ng transportation assistance sa 394 na mga indibidwal na na-stranded.
Kabilang sa lumahok sa operasyon ang 122 disaster response team na may 85 officers at 799 enlisted personnel mula sa Visayas Command, Eastern Mindanao Command, at Western Command.
Nasa kabuuang 101 CAFGU Auxiliary at 361 reservists ang tumulong din sa nasabing operasyon.
Naghatid din si AFP Chief Lt. General Andres Centino ng pamaskong mensahe sa mga kasamahan nito sa militar.
“Let us not forget to include our loved ones and the survivors of the typhoon in our prayers. Of course, let us also remember our comrades who are keeping watch right now across the country – to the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines – may the be all safe and out fo harm’s way,” ayon kay Centino.
Samantala, nagpahatid din ang AFP ng Christmas goods sa mga kasamahang militar na nakadestino sa iba’t ibang istasyon sa Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) sa pamamagitan ng Philippine Navy at Western Command.
