Davao City donates alcohol breath analyzer to TEU

THE City Government of Davao turned over six (6) alcohol breath analyzers to the Davao City Police Office – Traffic Enforcement Unit (DCPO-TEU) in time for the re-launching of RA 10586 or the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2023 on May 31, 2024.

The turnover of breathalyzers to the TEU is a step towards the strict implementation of the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act to deter drivers from driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, and other similar substances.

PCol. Rolindo Suguilon, Officer-in-Charge of the DCPO, said during his speech that the enforcement of R.A. 10586 underscores the dedication of the DCPO to deter reckless behavior and promote responsible driving by raising awareness, especially among motorists in the city.

The breathalyzer kits were turned over by Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte and were received by PCol. Suguilon.

Meanwhile, following the ceremonial turnover, the Land Transportation Office XI (LTO XI), through Regional Director Eleonor Calderon, authorized 120 personnel from the TEU and DCPO to implement and enforce RA 10586.

Calderon also said that their office, along with other authorized agencies, will continue to strictly enforce the law, and ensure that Davao City streets are safe for every Dabawenyo.

Mayor Duterte also expressed his gratitude to the members of the TEU and DCPO for their relentless effort in ensuring the safety and security of the city, especially in the implementation of the traffic rules and regulations.
