TO minimize the economic impact brought by recurring flooding in Navotas City, the Department of Public Works and Highways – Malabon Navotas District Engineering Office initiated the construction of a flood mitigation structure in Barangay Sipac Almacen.
Expected to complement the effectiveness of previously constructed flood control projects. the pumping station is designed to pump rainwater, and domestic water from storm drains and surface runoff to the Malabon-Navotas River.
Equipped with a retarding basin, this project is a strategic solution to meet the needs of the community.
This initiative stemmed from a thorough assessment that has seen the critical role of adaptable infrastructure as a cornerstone of effective flood control, and mitigation efforts.
The facility will safeguard communities during adverse weather conditions, not only along national roads but also across the surrounding road networks, benefiting the broader area of Navotas City.
