DENR MEO South holds community pantries in Las Piñas and Taguig

THE DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO) South conducted two meaningful Community Pantries in Barangay Talon Kuatro, Las Piñas City and Barangay North Daang Hari, Taguig City on May 9, 2025.

The Community Pantry aims to, in conjunction with the celebration of Mother’s Day, to honor mothers as pillars of the home and partners in environmental care. Aside from the distribution of vegetable seeds, discussions on Republic Act No. 9003 or Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 were also held to deepen the knowledge of residents on proper waste management, and the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program.

More than 3,000 seedlings of tomato, sigang chili, and spinach were distributed to about 100 mothers from the said barangays.

DENR MEO–South continues to implement community-based activities as part of the campaign for sustainable urban communities, cleaner environment, and more responsible citizens.
