THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) here, through its Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in Baliwag, distributed over 3,400 seedlings of native and fruit-bearing trees during the Community PLANTree activity held in Bulacan.
Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo noted that the two-day event at SM City Baliwag aimed to promote urban greening and environmental stewardship among communities.
According to Dennis Vergara, head of CENRO Baliwag, narra, kupang, molave, banaba, langka, and guyabano seedlings were distributed during the activity, with the aspiration of advocating for reforestation and restoration.
SM City Baliwag, City Environment and Natural Resources Office-Baliwag, Baliwag City Jail, Oikos Sustainable Solutions, and JCI Baliwag Buntal were among the partners of the DENR in this event, which was held as part of the Philippine Environment Month celebration with the theme, “Our Environment. Our Future.”
