THE Government of Thailand secured a huge amount of cash reward for people who will inform authorities of any cheating activities during the upcoming general elections next month.
Thailand offered a whopping 1-M baht reward for any Good Samaritan who will dare expose corruption activities on the day of the election in an effort to promote transparency and execute honesty.
The Election Commission (EC) offered the tempting reward to anyone who can provide evidence of electoral violations including vote buying.
Cash rewards for tipoff’s starts from 100,000 baht going all the way to 1-M baht.
According to the Bureau of Registration Administration , the total number of qualified voters for the upcoming election is at 52.3 million.
Authorities also launched a new online app known as Ta Sapparot, which means pineapple eyes in english, to help the public anonymously give details of alleged fraud, vote buying or gift-giving
The commission also gave away phone numbers and established hotlines where people can submit their complaints.
