DUE to the current uncertain situation in Lebanon, the Philippine Embassy in Beirut offered Overseas Filipino Workers currently in Lebanon may receive welfare assistance from the Philippine government.
According to the Philippine Embassy in Beirut, those who wish to avail of welfare assistance must follow the requirements and complete the requested information in the Google Form.
And use the information in his or her valid Philippine passport.
Filipinos in Lebanon may register on the Google form link until August 15, 2024
Several countries are continuously evacuating their nationals in Lebanon, including the Philippines.
This past week, the Department of Migrant Workers repatriated 19 OFWs and three minors from Lebanon.
OWWA and DMW provided financial assistance to each OFW returnee, along with comprehensive reintegration and job facilitation services for job opportunities.
In addition, the said OFWs also received economic assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development – DSWD and skills training vouchers from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The Department of Health also provided onsite medical assistance to ensure the health of the OFWs who returned home.
A total of 1,085 OFWs and 43 dependents were repatriated by the Philippine Government from Lebanon due to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict through the joint efforts of various government agencies.
