FORMER Presidential Consultant, Jose Alejandrino said it was the duty of Lucas Bersamin to conduct due diligence before recommending that the enrolled bill be signed into law by Bongbong Marcos.
“Based on Imee’s warning-that, by itself was a red flag for the Office of the President to investigate how the enrolled bill emerged with blanks in the bicameral report. It was the duty of the Office of the President to conduct due diligence before recommending the enrolled bill- be signed by Bongbong into law.
“That was what Imee meant by warning Bersamin not to lead her brother into harm. It was the duty of Bersamin, as executive secretary, to protect the president. Because whoever filled in the blanks is liable for an act of forgery or falsification of public documents,” stated Jose Alejandrino, Former Presidential Consultant.
