“During President Marcos  administration there’s already been 78% increase in extra-judicial killings in the previous six months,” pahayag ni M. Kran ng United Nations Human Rights Committee.

“This claim is very disturbing because we do not want things like this to happen. We are barely 100 days and the claim that we have done so much in six months is very alarming or is it a case of fake news or misplaced information,” pahayag ni Remulla.

“We are not even six months yet we are now on the 100 days period. Six months is 180 days that’s the first and second we do not know where this figure came from. Can we have the names of the people who were killed in the said EJK fashioned extra-judicial killing because if I’m given the names now I will have the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) investigate this matter at once. The National Bureau of Investigation is under the Department of Justice (DOJ),” ayon kay Remulla.

“With the mechanism may not have resources to monitor all incidence every effort is undertaken  to make sure that investigations of torture are transparent and inclusive. All sources of information are carefully considered,” ayon kay Remulla.

“It is not denied but it is part of the reform program that we are now advocating for our country. With the passage of the law on the regionalization of the jails, we are now in the process of bidding out…we will be starting to bid out 14 regional jails throughout the country that will have a maximum prison population of 2,500 persons each.  Why 2,500 persons? Because that is the best practice now universally accepted throughout the world,”  dagdag ni Remulla.
