PINANGUNAHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ang paglulunsad ng pinakabagong disaster response command center ng pamahalaan sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Headquarters sa Quezon City.
Magiging central hub ang bagong pasilidad para sa reporting, koordinasyon, paghahanda at tugon tuwing may kalamidad.
Paiigtingin din nito ang ‘sharing’ ng ‘communication equipment/assets’ ng DSWD Offices at stakeholders sa buong bansa.
Dito rin malalaman ang inventory ng mga natitirang ayuda at ang mga lugar na pinakadapat makatanggap nito.
“It is the command center of the DSWD’s disaster response, the mission control of our community development drive, and it may be the compassion central that dispenses help to the needy,” pahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
Puwede ring magamit ng iba pang ahensiya at government body ang command center gaya ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Samantala, pinangunahan din ni Pangulong Marcos ang paglulunsad ng Buong Bansa Handa Project na para din sa disaster preparedness.
Paiigtingin din nito ang sharing ng communication equipment/assets ng DSWD Offices at stakeholders para sa mas mabisang koordinasyon sa panahon ng pangangailangan.
Dito magkakakaroon ng national at local government-driven supply chain para sa produksiyon ng mga ayuda sa resource operations center ng DSWD.
Pati na ang pagtatayo ng dagdag disaster resource centers sa ilang strategic regions sa bansa gaya sa Caraga Region sa Mindanao.
“But what DSWD offers goes beyond just easing the pain of victims of misfortune – it ends at the roots of the vulnerability of those most in need of our society,” ani Pangulong Marcos.
