SA isang mensahe mula kay Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año, kinumpirma nito ang pagkakatalaga ni PLt General Guillermo Eleazar, bilang bagong Philippine National Police (PNP) chief.
Ani Año, kwalipikado si Eleazar bilang susunod na hepe ng pambansang pulisya.
Sa ilalim ng rekomendasyon ng NAPOLCOM, inirekomenda na ang heneral ang susunod na PNP chief.
Bukod kasi sa seniority, hindi rin matatawaran ani Año ang ambag nito sa PNP mula sa iba’t ibang larangan gaya ng kriminalidad, droga, at terorismo partikular na noong hepe pa ito ng NCRPO.
“President Duterte has just approved the appointment of PLt. Gen Guillermo Eleazer as the next Chief of Philippine National Police with the rank of Police General vice PGen. Debold Sinas who retires on May 8 2021. I welcome the appointment of PLt. Gen Eleazer who is very qualified for the job. Through a NAPOLCOM resolution, Eleazar was recommended to be the next Chief PNP based on seniority, merit, service reputation and competence to lead the Police Force. I expect PLt. Gen Eleazar to lead the PNP organization to greater heights amidst the pandemic during these challenging times,” pahayag ng Malakanyang.
Matatandaan na noong 2019 ay pinagkaloob kay Eleazar ang pangaral na lingkod bayan.
Kung saan nakapagtala ang heneral na makasaysayang pagbaba ng crime rate na 58% sa kanyang termino.
Nakapag filed in ng 5,066 administrative cases laban sa mga abusadong police officers ang opisyal kung saan 364 dito ay na dismissed sa kanilang serbisyo.
Nakakuha rin ang NCRPO ng 250,554 medals and citations ang mga pulis personnel na may 4,229 na mga officers ang nakatanggap ng Medalya ng Kagitingan at 43,325 ang binigyan ng Medalya ng Papuri sa ilalim ng kanyang pamumuno bilang hepe ng NCRPO.
Nagpahayag ng pagbati si Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque kay General Guillermo Eleazar bilang incoming PNP chief at umaasa ito na ipagpapatuloy ng opisyal ang mga nasimulang mga programa ng ahensya para sa ikabubuti ng bansa.
“We confirm that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has signed the appointment of PLt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar as the new chief of the Philippine National Police,” pahayag ni Roque.
“Gen. Eleazar’s track record of professionalism, dedication and integrity speaks for itself. We are therefore confident that he will continue the reform initiatives of his predecessors and lead the police organization to greater heights. All the best to Gen. Eleazar as the new PNP Chief,” dagdag ni Roque.
Si Eleazar din ang nanguna bilang pinuno ng PNP Joint Task Force COVID shield at sa ngayon ay kumander ng Administrative Support on COVID-19 Task Force (ASCOTF) kung saan inaalagaan nito ang kalusugan ng mga frontliners na pulis ngayong panahon ng pandemya.
Matatandaang matagal nang naging kandidato para maging PNP chief si Eleazar nang magretiro ang magkakasunod na mga hepe ng PNP gaya nina Gen. Oscar Albayade, Gen. Archie Gamboa at Gen. Camilo Pancratius Cascolan.
