Putin says Russia never gave up on peace talks with Ukraine

RUSSIA has never rejected peace talks with Ukraine.

This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his speech at the G20 virtual summit.

Putin defends Russia’s stance on Ukraine, highlights Zelensky’s decree against peace talks

Aside from refuting claims of Russia rejecting peace talks with Ukraine. Putin also mentioned Kyiv’s public withdrawal from negotiations through a decree signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in 2022.

To recall, last year, Zelenskyy formally outlawed any peace talks with the Kremlin as long as Putin is the President of Russia.

Meanwhile, Putin acknowledged the tragedy of the conflict and questioned the global response to events in Ukraine and Palestine.

“But what about the gruesome coup in Ukraine in 2014, followed by the Kyiv regime’s war against it’s own people in Donbas? Isn’t that shocking?”

“How about the extermination of civilians in Palestine, in the Gaza Strip today?”

“Isn’t that shocking?” according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin’s words came after Zelensky admitted setbacks in the counteroffensive and suggested the conflict’s resolution could involve conceding Donbas and Crimea, though he asserted Ukraine is not currently ready for a peace plan with Russia.

“The current situation in the global economy and the world requires collective, consensus decisions.”

“That reflect the opinions of the overwhelming majority of the international community both developed and developing countries,” he said.
