Saudi Arabia sets conditions to normalize ties

SAUDI Arabia is still interested to enter in a formal peace treaty with Israel but with a condition.

In a recent meeting with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken Israeli leaders the wealthy Gulf nation plans to normalize ties with Israel after the Gaza war ends.

However, Saudi Arabia won’t agree to any deal if the Israeli government doesn’t commit to the principle of a two-state solution and the creation of a future Palestinian state.

To recall, a mega-deal to establish a formal peace treaty between the US and Saudi Arabia brokered by Washington was on the books which got delayed after Hamas launched the deadly attack on Israel on October 7.

International observers pointed out that preventing the Israel-Saudi peace treaty from taking place was one of the main objectives of the October 7 attack.

Iran denied involvement and said that the resistance groups in the region are acting independently.
