SENATOR Christopher ”Bong” Go expressed his utmost support for Vice President Sara Duterte amid the politicizing of the issue of confidential funds.
Sen. Go stated that he is confident in VP Inday Sara’s ability and integrity as a public servant in using the money of the people to provide quality education and safety to the youth as the Secretary of the Department of Education.
“I fully support Vice President Sara Duterte. I have confidence in her ability and integrity as a public servant. This includes the proper use of the people’s funds, for the people,” according to Sen. Christopher Bong Go.
Go added that Inday Sara’s loyalty had already been proven when she was still the mayor of Davao City whereas the chair of the City Peace and Order Council and a member of the Regional Peace and Order Council, the city and the entire Davao Region became quiet, peaceful and insurgency-free.
“She has demonstrated this as the mayor of Davao City whereas the chair of the City Peace and Order Council and a member of the Regional Peace and Order Council, the city and the entire Davao Region became quiet, peaceful, and insurgency-free,” Sen. Go added.
FPRRD on intelligence funds: VP Sara has her own way of using it
In the recent episode of SMNI’s Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte with Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, Duterte confirmed that his daughter, Inday Sara, has long been using confidential funds to ensure peace and security in Davao City.
“Inday had an intelligence fund when she was mayor [of Davao City] all those years. I also had an intelligence fund. Let me tell you this at the outset, I’ll tell you this now. What is the product that we gave to Davao? Who was the first here in the Philippines to become peaceful and without communists, (there are communists), but they’re just out there in the mountains. They never enter [Davao]. What did we use [to achieve that]? Just our words? Would the communists only accept words? You know pacification is a long process. You have to strengthen the barangay. You have to spend money on that, Pastor, and you have to buy the rest, those that you cannot really get but are popular with the people in a certain barangay. They are strong because they’re kind and then you have to funnel them all out and buy them slowly. Those are the use of Intelligence Fund,” according to Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The former president further explained that the intelligence fund will still be audited, contrary to what others believe.
“Other people thought that intelligence funds had no auditing. No, Pastor, it really has auditing. [for example] I gave this to a barangay captain and COA would ask them if they received the money. Look, you know a lot of military personnel everywhere. You [know], Pastor, I am the only president or mayor who had a Periodic Command Conference. When I was mayor, I called for [a conference] almost every other month. All those police officers are still alive. Then, if you discuss the problem [Okay, spend the funds for intel, it’s up to you]. Just give me the right information. You can buy it from the person you’re having an affair with, even if they’re an NPA, I don’t care. Just produce the result. That’s how I was when I was President, all the military and police officers [knows that] and they’re all still alive.”
“Which president who is [doing the same thing,] that’s on the payroll, and then, Pastor, they are listening. The Intelligence Fund, well I suppose, Inday has a way of doing it. Because she wants to revive the ROTC and PMT, plus, [she wants to stop] the communists from [penetrating] schools.”
“So she wants to strengthen the PMT because that’s the first that makes her blood boil. Where do you think the enemies of the state get their manpower who are smart? They’re our UP students, those with ideologues. They thought she was pocketing the intelligence funds. Maybe the corrupt ones, but not this family,” Duterte added.
The former president insists that men judge best when they condemn.
“Men judge best when they condemn. The best judgment of a person will come out, especially when they put pressure on that person. That’s how it is. If you don’t believe it, then don’t. After all, they know—it will take years if I retired, I went in as mayor, same door. I went home as president, years after, same door, same life style, look, I even borrowed your jacket,” the Former President added.
Duterte’s daughter, VP Sara, is also the co-vice chairperson of the NTF-ELCAC and has shown courage and compassion for the welfare of Filipinos by fighting against the enemies of the state who are trying to overthrow the government.
Meanwhile, despite the challenges that the country is facing, Sen. Go calls on the public to unite in helping the government that is currently under the leadership of President Bongbong Marcos Jr., and Vice President Sara Duterte. Go is also calling for all Filipinos to realize the common desire to have a more stable, comfortable, and safe country for all Filipinos.
“So despite the challenges facing the country, I hope we can unite and help the government under the leadership of President Bongbong Marcos Jr., together with our Vice President Sara Duterte, to realize our common desire to be given a more stable, comfortable, and safe country for every Filipino we serve,” Sen. Go stated.
Go appealed to public servants not to succumb to bickering and politicking and instead be part of the solution and focus on the tasks given the global and local issues affecting the economy and ordinary citizens.
“As VP Sara said, given the global and local issues affecting our economy which adds to the burden carried by ordinary Filipinos, let us not succumb to bickering and politicking. Instead, let us be part of the solution and focus on the tasks at hand as public servants. Service first before politics,” he added.
