Turkish FM visits Norway to promote Gaza ceasefire

TURKISH Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan traveled to the Norwegian capital of Oslo as part of efforts to end the war and promote peace in the besieged Gaza Strip, hindi na ligtas para sa mga sibilyan—UN.

Fidan, together with the representatives from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, held talks with the delegates from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan urged US President Joe Biden to stop supporting Israel in its escalating war with Gaza during a phone call earlier this week.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintained that there will be no ceasefire, or a general ceasefire in Gaza, without the release of the hostages. Israel said more than 130 Israeli hostages are still being held in Gaza.

David Barnea, the director of Israel’s spy agency Mossad is expected to meet the Prime Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Europe this weekend to discuss the possibility of a second ceasefire in Gaza.
