U.S. watches closely as Russian warships approach Caribbean for military drills

IN a few more days Russian warships will be present in the waters off the Caribbean and just a few miles away from U.S. soil.

Four Russian ships, including a nuclear-powered submarine, will arrive in Cuba next week and will be docked in the capital Havana from the 12th through the 17th of June.

The military exercises will take place amid intensified support by Western nations to Ukraine in the form of military and humanitarian aid.

Several European nations like Germany and Sweden gave Ukraine the authority to use their weapons in its fight with Russia.

The drills will mark Russia’s first exercises in the Western Hemisphere in five years that will involve activities both in the air and sea.

The Russian warships are also expected to make a port call in Venezuela after visiting Cuba.
