UAE pledges $15-M aid for Palestine

THE United Arab Emirates (UAE) has pledged an additional $15 million in aid to support efforts in rebuilding the Palestinian City of Jenin after days of deadly violence.

The UAE reached out to the Palestinian people by providing more aid to help rebuild the Jenin Refugee Camp after it suffered massive destruction from the latest wave of violence.

The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the funds would support the work of the United Nations Relief and Work Agency in the Near East.

The promised funding will be used to deliver urgent assistance to Palestinian families, especially to the people most affected by the recent military operation in Jenin.

The two-day offensive launched by the Israeli military against Palestinian militants sent thousands of people fleeing their homes and destroyed the camp’s narrow roads and alleyways.

The recent fighting killed one Israeli soldier and twelve Palestinians.

The UAE has contributed more than 883 million us dollars in aid to Palestine from 2013 to 2021.
