UAE president arrives in India for G20 Summit

LEADERS from all over the globe have been arriving in India to attend the 18th edition of the Group of 20 (G20) Summit, including the UAE President, his Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Mohamed met with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 Summit upon arriving at the Indian capital of New Delhi on Friday.

Last year, the influential bloc chose India as the host country of the 18th G20 Summit scheduled for September 9 and 10, 2023.

Weeks before the summit, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Modi to Abu Dhabi for an official visit in July and August.

In return, India invited the UAE as a guest of honor at the G20 Summit.

The UAE looks forward to engaging in constructive dialogue with international partners on issues ranging from sustainable development, climate action, and balanced economic growth, to name a few.

From November 30 to December 12, 2023, the UAE will host the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as the conference of parties (COP28).

Both G20 and cop28 share a common goal of enhancing global climate action.

Some notable world leaders, such as Chinese President Xi Jinping, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and Russian President Vladimir Putin, will not attend the summit this year.
