NAGBALIK-LOOB sa gobyerno ang 130 miyembro ng communist terrorist group sa Northern at Central Luzon.
Ito ay dahil sa mas pinaigting na laban at walang humpay na operasyon na ginagawa ng militar sa mga rebeldeng grupo sa Northern at Central Luzon.
Di matatawaran ang dagok na tinamo ng mga ito dahil sa dami ng mga nag babalik loob sa gobyerno, bagay na naging daan sa pagkapilay ng mga guerilla fronts ng New People’s Army (NPA).
Kaya para kay Acting Commander of Northern Luzon Command (NoLCom) at Commander ng Joint Task Force Kaugnay, Maj. Gen. Andrew Costelo, ang mga sumuko ay kinabibilangan ng 15 regular communist terrorist members, 12 Milisya ng Bayan; isang arrested personality; at 102 party members mula sa iba’t ibang NPA-affiliated mass organizations sa Northern at Central Luzon.
“In addition to the surrendered personalities, a total of 17 firearms and 3 Improvised Explosive devices were recovered since December last year,” pahayag ni Costelo.
Ani Castelo, dahil sa matagumpay na operasyon na isinasagawa ng kasundaluhan sa komunistang grupo, ito nagpapakita lamang ng kadahilanan na may mali sa loob ng kilusan, bagay na napagtanto na marami pa nilang kasamahan na nagbalik-loob sa gobyerno
“As our soldiers on the ground deliver successive blows to the Communist terrorist groups in the region, it is only indicative of their already dwindling forces as more of their members realize the manipulative ploys of their leaders, and yield to the government,” dagdag ni Costelo.
Ang pinakahuling katagumpayan ng NoLCom troopers ay ang pagsuko 50 miyembro ng CTG Underground Mass Organization sa 81st Infantry Battalion ng Joint Task Force Kaugnay sa Brgy Alfonso at Brgy Matue, sa Gregorio del Pilar, Ilocos Sur noong umaga ng Enero 11, 2022.
“Following the surrender was the presentation of the former terror group mass base supporters to Hon. Alfonso Bailing, the Committee on Peace and Order in the municipality as he administered the Oath of Allegiance to the government and their formal dissociation from the Communist terrorist movement,” pahayag naman ni Lt. Col. Racii Alajandro Sotto, Commanding Officer of the 81IB.
Samantala nag pahayag naman si Maj. Gen. Costelo, ang paghihimagsik ng komunistang grupo ay nasa bingit na ng pagkalipol nito, at patuloy na hinihikayat ang mga natitirang teroristang komunista na isuko ang kanilang mga armas at magbalik-loob sa gobyerno.
“The growing number of surrenders manifest the exasperation of the members and supporters of the Communist terrorist groups of fighting for a false ideology that only threatens their safety as well as that of their families,” ani Costelo.
