156 PNP personnel graduate from Water Search and Rescue Training in Region 1

ONE Hundred and Fifty-six personnel from four Police Provincial Office of Philippine National Police (PNP) in Region 1 successfully graduated from the five-day Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training program held at the Coast Guard District North Western Luzon (CGDNWZN), 19 June 2024.

The Regional Director of PNP- PRO 1 Police Brigadier General Lou Evangelista, commended the graduates and instructors for their commitment and hard work to during the intensive WASAR training.

Moreover, the CGDNWLZN Commander CG Captain Ivan Roldan highlighted the significance of the training in bolstering the region’s emergency response capabilities, especially in light of frequent natural disasters such as typhoons and floods that affect Region-1.

Relatedly, the newly certified WASAR personnel are now better and equipped to handle water-based rescue operations, significantly enhancing the region’s capacity to respond to emergencies and save lives.

This initiative underscores the ongoing efforts of the PNP and PCG to improve disaster preparedness and ensure the safety and resilience of communities in Region 1.
