Army operating troops of the 23rd Infantry Battalion (23IB) under the 4th Infantry Division (4ID) neutralized two CPP-NPA terrorists and recovered two high-powered firearms at Sitio Kipundaw, Brgy. Sangay, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte on January 29, 2024.
The two rebels were believed to be members of Platoon 2 Sub-Regional Sentro De Gravidad Sagay, Sub-Regional Committee 3 of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee.
The troops also recovered one M16 assault rifle and one M4 rifle.
The Army leadership commended the 23IB on its successful operations, which resulted in the neutralization of two rebels and the recovery of high-powered firearms in Buenavista.
Moreover, the 4ID leadership called for the remaining CTG members to lay down their arms and surrender to the government so they could reintegrate into society, live peacefully with their families, and attain lasting peace and development in Agusan del Norte.
