SENATOR Francis ‘Tol’ Tolentino will open the Visayas Regional Qualifying Leg of the Philippine Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Games in Bacolod City from May 26 to June 1, 2024.
Themed “Husay ng ROTC, Husay ng Kabataan,” this year’s competition will highlight the skills and dedication of Filipino youth in serving the nation.
As the Honorary Chairman of the ROTC Games, Tolentino emphasized its role not only as a military training platform but also as a means to foster patriotism.
With over 3,000 athletes from Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas, the event will showcase talent, discipline, and patriotism.
Student-athletes will compete in aquatic sports, arnis, athletics, boxing, e-sports, kickboxing, sepak takraw, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, target shooting, chess, and raiders competition. The event will also include a search for Miss and Mister ROTC.
The Mindanao qualifying leg will be in Zamboanga City from June 23 to 29, while the Luzon leg will be in Indang, Cavite, from July 28 to August 3.
The national championships are set for August 18 to 24, also in Indang, Cavite.
