3 sons, 4 grandchildren of Hamas leader Haniyeh killed in Israeli strike

AN Israeli airstrike targeting Hamas operatives in Gaza killed the sons and grandchildren of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh—they were reportedly on their way to a family celebration when the strike happened.

Despite the incident, Haniyeh said this would not change their demands to reach a ceasefire agreement.

This is the moment that Hamas’s most senior political leader, Ismail Haniyeh received the dreadful news that his 3 sons and 4 grandchildren were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza.

On Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City’s Al-Shati Refugee Camp. The targeted strike, confirmed by the IDF and Israel Security Agency, claimed the lives of Amir, Mohammed, and Hazem Haniyeh, who were identified as Hamas operatives by the Israeli authorities.

The strike was reportedly aimed at thwarting their alleged plans to carry out terrorist activities in the central region of the Gaza Strip.

Despite the tragic loss, Ismail Haniyeh, who is based in Qatar, affirmed that Hamas’ stance on ceasefire negotiations remains unchanged.

Haniye also declared that the deaths of his children would not sway their demands.

“Anyone who believes that targeting my sons will push Hamas to change its position is delusional,” Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas Senior Political Leader stated.

The airstrike occurred amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has persisted for seven months.

Since the October 7 attack, Israeli officials claimed over 1,000 deaths, primarily civilians, while Gaza officials report over 33,000 fatalities and warn of a looming humanitarian crisis in the region.
