3 Young Siblings Die in Calumpit, Bulacan House Fire

Calumpit, Bulacan – A heartbreaking tragedy struck Brgy. Gatbuca late Wednesday night as three young siblings—a one-year-old girl and her two brothers aged five and seven—died in a house fire after reportedly being left alone at home.

According to initial investigations, the fire broke out shortly after 11:00 PM on April 23. The children were said to be left inside the house while their parents attended a wake in a nearby barangay.

The children’s mother reportedly attempted to save them but was unable to re-enter the burning structure due to the intensity of the flames.

Fire Officer 1 Patrick John Mandap confirmed that two adjacent houses were affected by the blaze, which was declared under control at 11:40 PM. Preliminary findings suggest that an unattended candle may have been the cause of the fire, possibly left lit by the mother before leaving.

Authorities have not yet confirmed if charges will be filed, as the investigation continues.

This tragedy has left the community in mourning, with many offering prayers and support to the bereaved family.
