PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. spearheaded the awarding of houses and the groundbreaking of a new project by the National Housing Authority (NHA) in the province of Cavite on January 12, 2024.
Alongside PBBM, NHA General Manager Joeben Tai also took part in the activity.
The six buildings of Ciudad Kaunlaran Phase I in Brgy. Molino II, Bacoor City, Cavite are now “ready for occupancy” for 360 families affected by the Supreme Court Mandamus to Clean-Up the Manila Bay Area.
“This is to provide relief for the Cavite residents affected by the Supreme Court’s Writ of Continuing Mandamus on cleaning Manila Bay and relocating families living along its coastline,” according to Pres. Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
Construction of Phase I continues to complete a total of nine 5-story buildings.
It consists of a total of 540 housing units, each with a floor area of 24 square meters.
The target completion date for the relocation or turnover of all housing units under Phase I is before March of this year.
Pres. Marcos leads groundbreaking ceremony of Ciudad Kaunlaran Project Phase 2
Meanwhile, the groundbreaking ceremony for Ciudad Kaunlaran Phase II marked the start of construction for two (2) five-story buildings, comprising 120 housing units, and another five (5)-story building with 60 units is set to be constructed soon in the same location.
The second phase of the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
For the beneficiaries of the housing project, this is a significant development for them, especially as it allows them to leave the dangerous areas they currently reside in.
Ciudad Kaunlaran is the result of successful collaboration between the NHA, the local government unit of Bacoor, government agencies, and private sectors.
“As an immediate response, we expedited their relocation to new, safe, quality, and comfortable homes with a proper community,” President Marcos added.
In connection with this, the president encouraged the beneficiaries to strengthen their cooperation with the government to maintain order and prosperity in the communities.
“I call on all the beneficiaries to use this blessing to improve your lives and ensure a bright future for you and your families,” he added.
President Marcos also revealed that the NHA has built over 80,000 housing units nationwide.
The executive also shared that there is a budget of P700-M through the Emergency Housing Assistance Program.
