OPERATING troops from the 55th Infantry Battalion (55IB), 1st Infantry Division unearthed an arms cache from the Sub-Regional Committee 5, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee on May 1, 2024 in Amai Manabilang, Lanao del Sur.
The troops acted upon the information from a former rebel who surrendered to the unit. Among the recovered firearms were three (3) high-powered firearms and an AK 47 assault rifle with several magazines and hundreds of live assorted ammunition.
The Philippine Army leadership commends the troops of the 55IB for their prompt action toward the recovery of the firearms and ammunition.
The Army leadership also encourages the unit to maintain its momentum in providing excellent service to the people and protecting the peace in their areas of responsibility.
