DEPARTMENT of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista presided over the Philippine Coast Guard’s Traditional New Year’s Call with the PCG top officers in Mandaluyong City, today, 16 January 2025.
During the annual tradition, Coast Guard officers reflected on the past year’s achievements and set the outlook for the year ahead, while reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the Philippines’ maritime interests, unity, and camaraderie within the organization.
In his speech, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary said that the gathering was a testament to the enduring commitment of the PCG to its mission and to the nation.
“Let us embrace this tradition with open minds so we can deepen our resolve and reaffirm our dedication to fulfilling the Coast Guard’s five-point mandate. It is through this mandate that we continue to protect and serve the Filipino people,” he said.
After showcasing the DOTr’s accomplishment report through an audio-visual presentation, Secretary Bautista spearheaded the oath-taking ceremony of the PCG Selection, Promotion, and Admin Boards for CY 2025, underscoring the importance of leadership in advancing the organization’s goals.
PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, together with his spouse, Chief Nurse of the Philippine Coast Guard Nursing Service (CGNS), Commodore Lysamyra Marie Gavan PCG, and other PCG senior officers also attended the event.
