SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go expressed deep gratitude to Filipinos following the release of the latest Stratbase-commissioned SWS survey, which showed him tied for the top spot among preferred senatorial candidates for the 2025 elections.
Senator Go registered a strong 42% voter preference in the March 15 to 20, 2025 survey—an upward trajectory from previous Social Weather Stations (SWS) polls, underscoring his persistent appeal to the public and perceived effectiveness in service.
The latest results mark a steady climb. He placed second in the February 15 to 19 survey with 38%, improving upon his earlier rankings—third to fourth in January (37%) and 32% in December 2024.
“Muli po akong nagpapasalamat nang taos-puso sa ating mga kababayan sa patuloy na tiwala sa aking kakayahang paglingkuran ang bayan,” Go said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to his trademark compassionate brand of public service—“sipag, malasakit, at more serbisyo”—which, he said, has shaped his work ethic since the very beginning of his term.
“Sipag, malasakit, at more serbisyo po ang maiaalay ko sa Pilipino. Hindi ko po sasayangin ang inyong tiwala at wala po akong sasayanging oras. Unang araw pa lang ng termino ko ay serbisyo sa Pilipino na po ang aking ginagawa.”
Building on this core message, Senator Go emphasized that his legislative and public service agenda will remain grounded in the everyday struggles of ordinary Filipinos—especially the poor and the sick. He reaffirmed his push for more accessible and compassionate services that prioritize those most in need.
“Asahan po ninyo na mangunguna din sa aking puso’t isipan ang pagbibigay ng serbisyong tunay na may malasakit. Patuloy kong isusulong ang mga pro-poor na mga batas at programa para ilapit ang serbisyong medikal sa ating mga kababayan lalung lalo na sa mga mahihirap na pasyente.”
At the heart of these efforts is the Malasakit Centers program, which Senator Go initiated in 2018 and later institutionalized by principally authoring and sponsoring Republic Act No. 11463. Designed to eliminate bureaucratic layers, these one-stop shops streamline access to government medical assistance.
To date, 167 Malasakit Centers operate nationwide. The DOH has reported that the program has assisted more than 17 million Filipinos in their hospital expenses.
As Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health, Senator Go has pledged to maintain close oversight to ensure that the Malasakit Centers law continues to be implemented effectively and reaches as many Filipinos as possible.
Complementing the Malasakit Centers, Senator Go has also been instrumental in other key healthcare initiatives. He principally sponsored and is one of the authors of RA 11959, or the Regional Specialty Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of specialty hospitals within DOH regional hospitals—ensuring that expert medical care is accessible even in underserved provinces.
In line with this, he has also championed the establishment of Super Health Centers nationwide. These facilities are designed to focus on primary care, early disease detection, and free consultations, implemented in coordination with municipal health offices, local government units, and PhilHealth’s Konsulta program.
Meanwhile, Senator Go also took the moment to reflect on former President Rodrigo Duterte’s recent detention in the International Criminal Court (ICC). Recalling the former president’s words, he drew strength from the leadership example and moral compass that continues to shape his political path.
“Kahit na malungkot tayo ngayon dahil sa nangyayari sa ating Tatay Digong, palagi kong tinatandaan ang payo n’ya sa akin: ‘Just do what is right. Unahin ang interes ng bayan. Unahin ang kapakanan ng mga Pilipino lalo na ang mahihirap, at hinding hindi ka magkakamali.’”
The SWS figures echo a growing momentum seen across other major polling firms. In the February 20 to 26 Pulse Asia survey, Senator Go surged to first place with 58.1% voter preference. This came after strong January numbers, where he ranked second to third with 50.4%.
Likewise, OCTA Research’s Tugon ng Masa survey, conducted from February 22 to 28, also ranked Senator Go second overall, with a commanding 62% rating.
