ON Wednesday and Thursday (May 14 – 15), as part of the 52nd Founding Anniversary of the Department of Tourism (DOT) celebration, employees took a meaningful trip down memory lane to the iconic National Museum of Natural History—a place that holds deep historical and emotional significance for many within the Department.
Long before its halls displayed the wonders of Philippine biodiversity, this stately neoclassical building once served as the home of the DOT. For years, its corridors echoed with footsteps of tourism pioneers, visionaries, and public servants whose passion helped shape the industry. Revisiting this place, now beautifully restored and repurposed, brought a wave of nostalgia and pride to the DOT family.
The visit was more than just a tour; it was a celebration of roots, legacy, and transformation. Employees echoed stories of old colleagues, landmark projects and memories of past that shaped the Department into what it is today.
