Army troops neutralize 3 CTG members in Batangas clashes

THE 59th Infantry “Protector” Battalion (59IB) of the 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division (2ID) neutralized three Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members in a series of encounters in Barangay Bolbok, Tuy, Batangas on June 24, 2024.

The series of firefights against nine heavily armed rebels resulted in the death of three CTG members. 59IB troops captured one M16 rifle, one R4 rifle, two Uzi sub-machine guns, and one improvised hand grenade at the encounter area.

The Army leadership lauded the Protector troopers for their commitment to ensure peace and progress in the communities that they serve. Meanwhile, the 2ID leadership extended its deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who died in the encounter, emphasizing that is tragic that they have been deceived by the CTG to partake in a false revolution which led to their senseless demise.
